AN AUSTRALIAN PUB WITH A HUGE HISTORY .

The Greenhills Inn is a superb double storey Federation style building located just 15 minutes from the town of York. Fondly known as the pub in the paddock, It has had a very interesting history of boom and bust. Built in 1906 by one of the first female publicans in Western Australia, Mary Ann McMullen. On the death of Mary Ann McMullen in 1923, she bequeathed the fine two-story hotel to her father, Alfred Dinsdale who was the Mayor of York at the time and the history of the hotel has grown from there. Since then it has had a checkered history and may owners. In 1996 it was saved from demolition by John Perry and Ashley Matthews who breathed new life into a run down wreck of a building they sold it in 2003. Since then there have been several owners with Rhonda and Murray Smith being current owners, taking over in 2021 from Apryl Longford and Rodney Wells. The hotel has 8 beautifully furnished queen bedrooms upstairs with 2 bathrooms done in period style fittings. For those who want an ensuite we have 7 donga accommodation units out the back with double beds. Why not stop in for a cold beer or a beautiful meal and experience the feel of a building from another time in its unique setting. Come by and get a feel for the history.
